To save water, portable toilets are being used

By having ten portable water filters, a manufacturing company estimates that it will save 10,000 litres of water per day.

Individuals and organizations must do everything possible to conserve water in Cape Town, which is currently experiencing a severe water shortage. The use of portable toilets is one of the immediate actions that can be taken, and it has an impact on both physical water conservation and disaster management.“

Thousands of litres of water are saved each year by using portable toilets

Every day, the portable restroom industry saves approximately 473 million litres of fresh, drinkable water around the world. Every day, that’s enough to fill four lakes the size and depth of a large football stadium. The amount of water saved each year is over 170 billion litres. Portable toilets not only help to save water, but they also help to provide safer drinking water, improved human dignity, increased productivity, and disease protection.

Become a supporter of the “Save Now” campaign

“A manufacturing company in Cape Town is currently using portable toilets as a substitute for their regular toilets, demonstrating the impact portable toilets can have on water conservation. By having ten portable toilets on site serving about 150 employees, this company has committed to the ‘Save Now’ campaign and is saving an estimated 10,000 litres of water per day. Hand sanitizers are also included in the units, which helps to conserve fresh water. With the possibility of water shortages becoming more real, conserving water becomes more important.

Make water conservation a part of your disaster recovery strategy

“Not only do we have a moral obligation to do everything we can to conserve water, but this issue should also be included in every organization’s Disaster Recovery Plan,” says the author. Water scarcity has a negative impact on the environment, productivity, and living standards, and there is no better time to act than now.”
